A Bangladeshi media organization has launched a dedicated digital platform providing comprehensive world news in Bengali, aiming to make international affairs more accessible to local audiences. The initiative, named "World News Bengali," was introduced earlier this week by Dhaka-based media group "Bengali Global News Network" (BGN). The platform curates and translates key international news stories from major global agencies, offering in-depth analysis and summaries tailored for Bengali-speaking readers.

According to BGN's CEO, Dr. Ayesha Rahman, the service addresses a growing demand among Bangladeshi citizens who prefer consuming news in their native language but lack access to reliable international coverage. "Many people in Bangladesh rely on English-language sources for world news, which can be a barrier for those with limited English proficiency," Rahman stated. "Our goal is to bridge this gap by delivering accurate, timely, and contextualized global news in Bengali."

The platform features a range of content, including summaries of major global events, analysis pieces on geopolitical developments, and special reports on topics like climate change, international conflicts, and economic trends. It also includes translations of key reports from agencies such as Reuters, AFP, and BBC, with additional context provided by BGN's editorial team. BGN has recruited a team of experienced journalists and translators to ensure quality and accuracy. The team includes former editors from leading Bangladeshi newspapers and experts in international relations. "We have strict editorial guidelines to maintain neutrality and avoid bias," said Rahman. "Every story goes through multiple layers of fact-checking before publication."

The service has been particularly welcomed by the Bangladeshi diaspora, which numbers over 10 million people worldwide. Many expatriates in the Middle East, Europe, and North America have expressed appreciation for having world news in Bengali, which helps them stay connected to global events while maintaining ties to their home country.
